Kosciusko, MS (December 6, 2021) – At 10:38 a.m. on Monday morning, December 6, a hit-and-run crash with injuries occurred in Kosciusko.
According to Leake County officials, the accident happened at the intersection of MS-43 and Damascus Church Road. A vehicle was traveling in the area when it suddenly entered the intersection, colliding with a second vehicle. This forced the second vehicle off the roadway. The first vehicle fled the scene of the accident without stopping.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One person inside the vehicle that remained at the scene was hurt in the accident. They were hospitalized, though they are expected to be okay.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for some time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the collision remains ongoing.
