Lauderdale Co., MS (March 8, 2024) – A collision on a highway in Lauderdale County happened on Wednesday morning, March 6. At approximately 8:00 a.m., police went to the scene to find two vehicles that had collided. Reports show an Acura operated by Jaimee Rowry of Meridian was headed south when it collided with a northbound Chevrolet operated by 82-year-old Alvin Sowers. Rowry lost his life in the accident, sources said. Sowers and a 7-year-old passenger present in Rowry’s vehicle were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Police are still working to investigate the details of the accident.
