Laurel, MS (August 19, 2023) – The Mississippi Department of Transportation reported that an automobile accident took place in Jones County that resulted in injuries.
The accident was reported to officials at around 820 p.m. on August 19.
According to law enforcement, a crash blocked all of the eastbound lanes of US Highway 84. Authorities responded to the scene and closed off the roadway near Magnolia Road as they worked to clear the scene.
At least one person involved in the crash was transported to a local hospital, where they underwent further treatment for injuries.
At this time, the collision is being investigated.
