Marion County, MS (March 30, 2023) – A woman from Columbia, MS, lost her life in a two-car accident that occurred in Marion County on Friday, March 24. Information provided by the Mississippi Highway Patrol shows the incident happened at around 4:00 p.m.
Sources say the crash occurred when a 2018 Mercedes E-Class operated by Tamnika Stevenson, 48, was headed north on MS-13 when it was involved in a crash with a 2014 Dodge Ram driven by Michael Barnett, 70, of Columbia, who was headed south.
Stevenson was fatally injured in the collision, reports show. She was pronounced deceased on-site by medical professionals. Authorities in Marion County continue to investigate the circumstances of the incident.
