Mendenhall, MS (June 06, 2022) – One woman died during a head-on crash in Simpson County on Wednesday, June 1st.
At about 7:00 a.m., Mississippi Highway Patrol Troopers were called to the scene on Highway 149 in Mendenhall. Upon their arrival, they found that a northbound 2003 Toyota Highlander and a southbound Ford F-350 pick-up truck had collided with one another.
The driver of the Highlander, identified as 56-year-old Rita M. Ross, a resident of Braxton, died at the scene.
The occupants of the F-350 were unharmed.
It remains unclear which driver was going the wrong way.
This incident is under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
