Meridian, MS (January 17, 2023) – Police responded to the scene of a serious car accident in Meridian on the afternoon of January 17. The wreck happened on Interstate 20 at around 4:00 p.m.
Reports from authorities show the incident happened on Interstate 20 near MS 145 South. An unspecified number of cars collided in the area resulting in at least one injured person.
EMS treated those with injuries at the scene before transporting seriously wounded patients to area hospitals for further care. The names of those involved have not been reported at this time.
The right lane of Interstate 20 was blocked while crews worked in the area. At this time, authorities in Meridian are still working to determine the cause of the crash.
