Mississippi Truck Collisions
Traffic accidents are one of the most common reasons people sustain injuries and lose their lives in the United States. In one recent year, over 6 million vehicle collisions were reported across the country. An alarming fact related to these accidents is that the majority of them are caused by negligent driving. When semi-trucks become involved in accidents, the consequences can be even more devastating. Due to the massive size and weight of these monsters on the road, they can cause serious and debilitating damage when they crash into other vehicles. Especially when negligent driving is involved, someone is bound to sustain serious injuries or even lose their life.
Negligent driving can be displayed in many different ways, including distraction, fatigue, intoxication, and speeding. For example, over 11,000 people are killed every year because of speeding. It may seem convenient to drive over the speed limit in order to get to your destination quicker, however, this is never the case. Speeding is dangerous, selfish, and can even be deadly.
When you or a member of your family are hurt in a car crash, you may be dealing with many problems. You could be suffering physically, emotionally, and financially. Depending on the severity of your injuries, you may be stuck in the hospital, unable to work and make a living, which can be stressful and overwhelming. The costs associated with medical care can be astronomical. In fact, the average cost of sustaining a serious car crash injury is in the tens of thousands of dollars. An ambulance ride alone is usually over $900.
When you have lost someone you love in a truck crash caused by negligence, it may feel like your entire world has ended. Right now may seem like no time to think about money, but you may, unfortunately, be facing steep costs related to the passing of your loved one. The cost of funeral care, burial expenses, medical bills, and more may be overwhelming.
