Meridian, MS (May 9, 2022) – On Monday morning, May 9, a serious two-vehicle crash with injuries occurred on a highway in Meridian.
The Meridian Police Department received multiple calls about the accident and arrived at the scene around 9 a.m. They discovered that two vehicles collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known on I-20 around exit 150. Photographs at the scene showed a white pickup truck slammed into the back of a black sedan, causing severe damage and leaving both vehicles across both lanes of traffic. Debris was scattered all across the scene.
Meridian fire crews and paramedics were dispatched to the scene. Several victims sustained injuries as a result of the accident and were treated at the scene. The parties were rushed to the hospital and are expected to recover.
All eastbound lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for an extended period of time until the scene was cleared.
Meridian Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the collision at this time.
