Merdian, MS (November 4, 2023) – A fatal traffic collision took place on a highway in Meridian on Saturday evening, October 23. Reports show the incident happened at around 6:45 p.m.
Authorities in Meridian are still investigating the details of the crash at this time. According to reports from local authorities, it took place on Highway 45 when a 2007 Toyota Sequoia and a 2015 Ford Explorer collided. The Explorer was attempting to pull onto the highway at the time of the crash.
One adult and three minors were inside the Explorer at the time of the collision. One child was taken to Andrson Hospital due to severe injuries and was later taken to University Medical Center in Jackson.
The child later passed away due to the extent of her injuries. Police are still investigating the details of the accident.
