Monroe County, MS (October 19, 2023) – A woman from West Point lost her life in a crash in Monroe County. Reports show the incident occurred on Sunday night, October 15.
Several responders were dispatched to the scene of the crash on Highway 25 near Old Highway 25, slightly north of Aberdeen. The victim was identified as 41-year-old Rita Mae Crump.
Crump was headed west on Old Highway 25 when her vehicle crashed into a pickup truck headed north. Emergency crews transported her to the Monroe County Airport to meet an emergency helicopter, however, she lost her life before the flight.
Police in Monroe County are still investigating the details of the crash.
