Morton, MS (May 7, 2022) – A motor vehicle accident reported in Morton on Thursday evening claims one man’s life. At around 9:30 p.m., on May 5, the Morton Police Department responded to the scene of a crash on Highway 80.
Reports provided by Morton Police show that 38-year-old Dion Ratliff was riding a bicycle on the eastbound side of Highway 80 during the evening hours.
For unknown reasons, a pickup truck passing through the area struck the bicyclist. Ratliff suffered fatal injuries as a result of the accident. Emergency crews arrived at the scene to render aid to the victim. However, he was declared deceased at the scene.
At this time, the Morton Police are investigating the crash.
