New Albany, MS (December 6, 2021) – At 1:30 a.m. on the morning of Saturday, December 4, two people were killed in a fatal ATV accident in New Albany.
According to Union County officials, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of MS-30. Two people were riding on an ATV when they started to cross the roadway. Their ATV was struck by a passenger vehicle traveling in the area due to reasons that are not yet known. The ATV sustained severe damages as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The two riders, identified as Tori Rutledge and Dominic Rhynes, were tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to catastrophic injuries.
Due to the severity of the accident, a portion of the roadway was blocked in the area until police cleared the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
