Ocean Springs, MS (December 28, 2021) – At 11:13 a.m. on Monday morning, December 27, a man was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident in Ocean Springs.
According to Ocean Springs Police, the accident happened in an unidentified area on railroad tracks. A man was walking westbound in the area when a man did not hear the train’s oncoming warning noises. The train collided with the male who was walking in the area and immediately came to a stop.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The unidentified adult male pedestrian was severely injured due to the accident. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area of the railroad tracks for some period of time.
Ocean Springs Police and CSX Transportation both continue their investigation into the circumstances of the accident at this time.
