Oxford, MS (February 22, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a car accident that took place on a roadway in Oxford on Monday morning, February 21.
According to Oxford officials, the accident happened around 9:05 a.m. at 1711 University Avenue. Two or more vehicles were traveling in front of the local Auto Zone when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those with injuries. One or more victims were injured as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
Due to the severity of the accident, a large portion of the roadway was blocked for some time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing at this time.
