Oxford, MS (February 13, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a car accident that took place on a roadway in Oxford on Friday afternoon, February 11.
Oxford Police confirmed that the accident happened around 2:35 p.m. at 1936 University Avenue around the area of the local Cashsavers. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the collision. The injured parties, who have not yet been identified, were rushed to the hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
The roadway was blocked in several lanes for a period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
