Oxford, MS (January 21, 2022) – On Thursday evening, January 20, a car accident with injuries occurred on a major roadway in Oxford.
According to Oxford Police, the accident happened at 5:35 p.m. at 2153 Jackson Avenue in the westbound lanes. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the westbound lanes of traffic when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not entirely known. The involved vehicles were badly damaged as a result of the collision.
Numerous responders, including Oxford paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were seriously injured due to their injuries. The parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Their identities and conditions are not known at this time.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for some time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the accident remains ongoing.
