Oxford, MS (February 1, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a serious car accident that took place in Oxford on Tuesday afternoon, February 1.
Oxford Police confirmed that the accident happened at 1:15 p.m. at 1804 Jackson Avenue. Several vehicles were traveling in the westbound lanes of traffic in front of the local Starbucks. The vehicles forcefully collided with each other due to reasons that are not fully known. Tow trucks removed the damaged vehicles from the scene.
Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to assist those with injuries. One or more victims were seriously injured as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
Due to the severity of the collision, a portion of the roadway was blocked in the area. This led to delays until police were able to fully clear the scene.
