Oxford, MS (March 31, 2022) – Around 3:57 p.m. on the afternoon of Thursday, March 31, a car accident with injuries took place on a roadway in Oxford.
According to the Oxford Police Department, the accident happened at 1931 Jackson Avenue in front of Regions Bank. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the westbound lanes of traffic when they suddenly collided with each other due to reasons that are not fully known. The involved vehicles sustained heavy damage and had to be towed from the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those with injuries. One or more victims were hurt in the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their conditions are not known at this time.
Due to the severity of the collision, the roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
