Oxford, MS (February 1, 2022) – Around 7:15 p.m. on the evening of Tuesday, February 1, a car accident with injuries occurred on a roadway in Oxford.
Oxford Police confirmed that the accident happened in the westbound lanes of traffic at 1501 Jackson Avenue. Several vehicles were traveling in the area around Fire House Subs when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged as a result.
Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the collision. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Their identities and conditions are not known at this time.
Due to the severity of the collision, the roadway was blocked in the area for a period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
