Mississippi Auto Accidents
Car crashes happen constantly. In the United States, there are approximately 6 million car accidents reported per year. Throughout Mississippi, over 100,000 vehicle collisions take place annually. These accidents happen for many different reasons. Currently, the main cause of car wrecks throughout the nation is distracted driving. With the popularity of smartphones skyrocketing, distracted driving is becoming worse and worse.
The dangers associated with taking your eyes from the roadway are immense and severe. Looking at a text message for five seconds while driving 55 miles per hour is equal to taking your eyes off of the road while driving the length of an entire football field. Anyone you encounter in that time period is in danger of severe injuries or even death.
Thinking about putting someone else’s life at risk should be enough to deter anyone from acting negligently while driving. Regrettably, most drivers don’t look at it this way. They think that they will be just fine if they look away for a couple of seconds–however, this is not always the case. In 2019, over 400,000 people suffered injuries in auto accidents caused by distracted drivers, and more than 3,000 lost their lives.
Regardless of the type of negligence that caused your accident, if you believe that a negligent driver ultimately caused your injuries, you deserve to be compensated for your injuries and damages. You may have been stuck in the hospital for a prolonged period of time while you underwent invasive and exhausting medical procedures. Your medical care could have cost you a fortune and you may be wondering how you’re going to financially recover from all of this.
