Oxford, MS (October 01, 2021) – On Friday, October 1st, at about 4:50 p.m., officers from the Oxford Police Department were called to the scene of an injury-causing car accident in Lafayette County.
Sources reported that the accident took place in the 2000 block of University Avenue near Kroger when at least two vehicles collided with one another. The cause of the accident has not been determined.
Paramedics, fire crews, and multiple other rescue agencies reported to the area to render any necessary medical treatment or transportation. At least one victim was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition.
The roadway was blocked in the area for a period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
No additional details have been released as the investigation is still open.
