Oxford, MS (September 22, 2021) – At 5:45 p.m. on the evening of Tuesday, September 21, a car accident with injuries occurred in Oxford.
According to police, the accident happened on University Avenue around the area of the local Sonic restaurant. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Their conditions are not known at this time.
The roadway was blocked in the area for a period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
