Oxford, MS (January 30, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a car crash that took place on a major roadway in Oxford on Friday afternoon, January 28.
According to Oxford Police, the accident happened at 1725 University Avenue in front of the local Little Caesars restaurant. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not fully known. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged.
Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those with injuries. One or more victims were seriously injured as a result of the collision. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment.
Due to the severity of the collision, a portion of the roadway was blocked for a period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
