Oxford, MS (April 26, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a serious car accident that took place on a roadway in Oxford on Monday evening, April 25.
According to Oxford Police, the accident happened around 5:25 p.m.at 1400 University Avenue in front of the local Sneed’s Ace Hardware store. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided for uncertain reasons. The involved vehicles sustained severe damage and had to be towed from the scene.
Several local responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were injured as a result of the collision. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Their identities and conditions are not known at this time.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area for some time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene so traffic could return as normal.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues. Police will update with more information as it is available.
