Oxford, MS (February 6, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a serious car accident that took place on a roadway in Oxford on Saturday afternoon, February 5.
According to Oxford Police, the collision happened at 1:35 p.m. at 212 Chandler Avenue. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when one or more lost control, causing the vehicles to forcefully collide with one another. The involved vehicles were badly damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
Numerous responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their conditions are not known at this time.
Due to the severity of the collision, a large portion of the roadway was blocked in the area until police cleared the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
