Oxford, MS (April 4, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a car accident that took place on a roadway in Oxford on Monday afternoon, April 4.
According to Oxford Police, the accident happened on South Lamar Boulevard. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when one lost control, causing the vehicles to forcefully collide with one another. The vehicles involved in the accident sustained severe damages and had to be towed from the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were injured as a result of the collision. The injured parties were hospitalized, though their conditions are not known at this time.
Due to the severity of the collision, the roadway was blocked in the area. Police quickly worked to clear the scene so traffic could resume as normal.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing. Police will update with more information as it is available.
