Oxford, MS (April 13, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a car crash that took place on a roadway in Oxford on Tuesday afternoon, April 12.
According to Oxford Police Department officials, the accident happened at 3:40 p.m. at 2151 Jackson Avenue. Several vehicles were traveling in the westbound lanes of traffic near the local Chipotle when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the collision were extensively damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the collision. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
