Oxford, MS (April 8, 2022) – At 11:40 a.m. on the morning of Friday, April 8, a car crash with injuries occurred on a roadway in Oxford.
According to the Oxford Police Department, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of traffic at 1898 Jackson Avenue in front of Car Wash USA. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when one or more lost control, causing the vehicles to forcefully collide with each other. The vehicles involved in the collision were extensively damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The injured parties, who have not yet been identified, were rushed to local hospitals for treatment.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues. Police will update as more information becomes available.
