Mississippi Vehicle Accidents
Car crashes happen in Mississippi constantly. Over 125,000 auto collisions are reported in the Magnolia state each year. More than 55,000 individuals suffer serious injuries in these wrecks, and more than 1,000 lose their lives. Car accidents are among the top ten causes of serious injuries and fatalities in the United States. More than 6 million accidents are reported every year that cause injuries to over 3 million individuals. On average, the main cause of these collisions is driver negligence. Drunk driving, distracted driving, fatigued driving, and more usually lead to serious injury collisions. Currently, the leading cause of auto wrecks in the United States is driver distraction. This is most likely due to people choosing to check their phones while driving.
Looking at your phone for five seconds while behind the wheel of a vehicle moving about 55 miles per hour is equal to traveling the length of a football field blindfolded. Social media notifications, checking texts, and phone calls can wait until you’re not driving. Looking at your phone while driving is putting yourself and everyone you encounter on the road at risk for severe injuries or even death.
Thousands of serious collisions are caused by negligent drivers. If you or someone you love has been victimized in a serious crash caused by another driver, you should be compensated for the damages you face in relation to your wreck.
