Oxford, MS (May 31, 2022) – One or more parties were injured in a car accident that took place on a major roadway in Oxford on Sunday morning, May 29.
According to the Oxford Police Department, the accident happened around 11 a.m. at 2013 University Avenue in front of Kroger. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not entirely known. The involved vehicles sustained heavy damage and had to be towed from the scene.
Several local responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Paramedics treated one or more victims at the scene of the accident who sustained injuries. The injured parties were hospitalized, though their conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the collision, a portion of the roadway was blocked in the area for some time. Police worked to clear the scene so traffic could return to normal.
