Oxford, MS (April 11, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a car accident that took place on a roadway in Oxford on Monday night, April 11.
According to the Oxford Police Department, the accident happened at 1735 University Avenue in front of North Mississippi Foot Specialists. It was reported that two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they suddenly collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their conditions are not known at this time.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area for some time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues. Police will update with more information as it is available.
