Oxford, MS (February 21, 2022) – On Monday evening, February 21, an injury accident took place at an intersection in Oxford.
Oxford Police confirmed that the accident happened at the intersection of Lamar Boulevard and University Avenue. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they entered the intersection at the same time, forcefully colliding with each other. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those with injuries. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Their identities and conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked at the intersection for a period of time.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the accident continues.
