Oxford, MS (January 2, 2022) – In the evening hours of Saturday, January 1, an injury accident occurred in front of a car dealer in Oxford.
The Oxford Police Department confirmed that the collision happened at 479 MS-278 in the westbound lanes of traffic. The crash happened around 5:35 p.m. in front of Cannon Nissan. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not known at this time. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result of the crash.
Numerous local responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were called to the scene to help those in need. Injuries were reported in one or more victims. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their unknown injuries.
The roadway was blocked in several lanes of traffic until police were able to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation into the accident remains ongoing.
