Oxford, MS (February 15, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a car accident that took place on a roadway in Oxford on Tuesday morning, February 15.
According to Oxford Police, the accident happened at 701 Sisk Avenue in front of the Shell gas station. Several vehicles were traveling in the area around 8:30 a.m. when one or more lost control, causing them to forcefully collide with each other. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged as a result.
Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries, though their conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the collision, a large portion of the roadway was blocked in the area for a period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene so traffic could return as normal.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
