Oxford, MS (September 8, 2021) – At 6:14 p.m. on the evening of Tuesday, September 7, a car accident with injuries occurred on a roadway in Oxford.
According to the Oxford Police Department, the accident happened at 1111 Jackson Avenue around the area of the Malco Theater – Oxford Studio Cinema. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when one or more lost control, causing them to collide with one another. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged and had to be removed from the scene by tow trucks.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those with injuries. One or more victims were injured as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals, though their conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was partially blocked until police were able to clear the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
