Oxford, MS (December 20, 2021) – At 2:05 p.m. on the afternoon of Sunday, December 19, a multi-vehicle accident occurred in Oxford.
According to Oxford Police, the accident happened in the eastbound lanes of MS-30. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when one or more vehicles lost control. The vehicles collided with each other, which led to extensive damages. The vehicles involved in the accident had to be towed from the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the collision. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the accident, a large portion of the roadway was blocked for some time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
