Oxford, MS (March 30, 2022) – At 1 p.m. on the afternoon of Wednesday, March 30, a multi-vehicle collision took place in Oxford.
According to the Oxford Police Department, the accident happened at 900 Whirlpool Drive in front of the Flatts at South Campus. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when one or more lost control, causing the vehicles to collide with each other. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were hurt in the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their identities and conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
