Oxford, MS (April 19, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a serious car accident that took place on a major roadway in Oxford on Tuesday evening, April 19.
According to Oxford Police, the accident happened around 5:20 p.m. in the westbound lanes of Jackson Avenue. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the accident sustained severe damage as a result of the collision.
Several local responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One victim sustained serious injuries as a result of the accident. The injured party was taken to the hospital for treatment, though their condition is not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in all westbound lanes for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
