Oxford, MS (December 14, 2021) – At 4:55 a.m. on the morning of Tuesday, December 14, a car crash with injuries occurred on a major roadway in Oxford.
According to officials, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of US-278. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not fully known. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were injured as a result of the accident. The injured victims were taken to local hospitals, though their conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the accident, a large portion of the roadway was blocked for an extended period of time.
