Pearl, MS (February 13, 2022) – A woman was killed in a two-vehicle collision that took place on Sunday evening, February 13.
Pearl Police confirmed that the crash happened around 7 p.m. on MS-468 near the area of J. L. Jones Drive. A Jeep was traveling in the area when it suddenly collided with a Toyota Tacoma in the area due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Police confirmed that there was only one person in the Jeep and three inside the Toyota. One of the passengers inside the Tacoma was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to severe injuries. The victim has only been identified as an adult female. The two other people in the Tacoma, as well as the driver of the Jeep, were hospitalized with injuries.
The roadway was blocked in several lanes as police worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues. Police will update as more information becomes available.
