Pearl River County, MS – Teenager Killed in Accident on MS 26 near JM Tynes Rd

Pearl River County, MS (May 17, 2023) – A teenager from Laurel tragically lost their life in a fatal crash in Pearl River County. The incident occurred at approximately 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 17. 

Police report the wreck occurred on Mississippi 26 near JM Tynes Road. A 2007 GMC truck driven by Silas Ensign, 19, was headed west on Mississippi 26 when it was involved in a crash with a 2022 Chevrolet Camaro driven by Nicholas Gagliano, 27, of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, who was headed east on MS 26. 

Both vehicles caught fire after the accident. At this time, the cause of the collision is under police investigation. 

Responders worked at the scene for an extended period of time, causing significant delays in traffic.
