Puckett, MS (May 8, 2022) – According to police, one person was killed in a fatal truck crash that took place on a major roadway in Puckett.
According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the accident happened Friday afternoon, May 6th, at around 1:30 p.m. on MS-13. Police claim that a 2006 Nissan Armada was traveling in the area when it was suddenly struck by a utility truck that was traveling north. One of the vehicles immediately caught on fire after they collided, which led to extensive damage.
Many local responders, including paramedics and Puckett fire officials, were called to the scene to help those in need. The driver of the Armada, identified as 21-year-old Jaden Gibson, was severely injured in the accident. He was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. Nobody else was hurt as a result of the collision.
The roadway was temporarily blocked in the area for a period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the accident remains ongoing.
