Rankin Co., MS (December 14, 2023) – The Mississippi Department of Transportation reported that an automobile accident occurred in Rankin County that ended in injuries. Calls for assistance came in at around 4:30 p.m. on December 14.
According to reports provided by the Mississippi Highway Patrol, a collision between vehicles occurred on US Highway 80. The incident blocked all of the eastbound lanes just before Mississippi 18, Crossgate Boulevard. The crash caused delays throughout the area. Highway Patrol redirected traffic out of the area as emergency crews worked to remove the involved vehicles from the scene. At least one person was injured and transported by ambulance to a local hospital for emergency medical care. At this time, the circumstances surrounding the collision are being investigated by law enforcement.
