Rankin Co, MS (June 26, 2022) – A traffic accident happened in Rankin County on Friday, June 24 between a car and a semi-truck. According to reports, the incident occurred on I-20 near milepost 62 at approximately 2:00 p.m.
Information from reports shows that a police officer in Rankin was working his routine patrol route headed east on I-20 when he came across a collision between a tractor-trailer and a car. The semi-truck was completely engulfed in flames, according to information from police.
Both vehicles were in a wooded area by the roadway with significant damages, according to authorities. The truck driver was found on the ground next to his truck in need of immediate medical assistance.
Rankin County Deputies, Rankin EOC, Pelahatchie Police Department, Pelahatchie Fire Department, Pafford Ambulance Service, and Walters Fire Department were observed assisting at the scene.
