Rankin County, MS – I-55 Scene of Injury Wreck near I-20 On Ramp

Rankin County, MS (September 9, 2023) – On the evening of Friday, September 8, emergency responders in Rankin County were sent to the scene of a car crash with injuries. Crews arrived on-site at around 5:30 p.m. 

According to reports, the incident took place on Interstate 55 near the ramp to Interstate 20. At least one person was hurt in the crash, however, the extent of their injuries has not been reported. 

Several responders were seen helping those involved at the wreck site, including EMTs, police, and fire crews. The right southbound lanes of traffic were blocked while rescue personnel worked in the area. 

The incident remains under local law enforcement investigation at this time. Police asked local motorists to use different travel routes while the scene was occupied with responders. 

We hope for the full recovery of those with injuries. No further information has been reported.
