Rankin County, MS (February 3, 2024) – At approximately 6:50 p.m., on February 2, a serious car crash occurred in Rankin County.
At least one person suffered injuries in the collision that took place on United States Route 49 near Gunter Road. Two or more vehicles crashed in the area under circumstances that are still being investigated by local police. Those with injuries were treated by EMTs at the scene before being transported to a local hospital for further evaluation and treatment. Currently, their names have not been reported to the public. The roadway was blocked while emergency responders worked in the area, causing substantial delays in traffic. Local drivers were forced to use alternate routes.
