Senatobia, MS (April 23, 2022) – A man was killed in a fatal hit-and-run pedestrian accident that took place on Friday night, April 22, in Senatobia.
According to Senatobia Police Department officials, the accident happened around 10:45 p.m. on West Main Street around the area of Morgan Lane and Line Street. An elderly male, whose identity has not yet been released, was walking in the area at the time. It is not known if he attempted to cross the street or not, but he was struck by an unknown car. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene following the accident.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The elderly man was severely injured due to the collision. He was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time following the accident. Police quickly worked to clear the scene so traffic could return to normal.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues. Police will update with more information as it becomes available.
