Starkville, MS (December 15, 2021) – At 7:02 a.m. on Wednesday morning, December 15, a man was killed in a fatal crash in Starkville.
According to Starkville Police, the accident happened on MS-25 around the area of Cornerstone Park. A man identified as 26-year-old Anthony Rehm was traveling with his dog from Oklahoma to Florida for the holidays. He was involved in an accident with one or more vehicles in the southbound lanes of traffic. The vehicles involved in the crash were badly damaged as a result of the crash.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The victim, identified as 26-year-old Anthony Rehm, was pronounced dead at the scene due to severe injuries. His dog also passed away in the accident.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time as police cleared the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
