Starkville, MS (May 11, 2022) – A major two-vehicle collision took place at an intersection in Starkville on Wednesday morning, May 11.
According to the Starkville Police Department, the accident happened around 10 a.m. at the intersection of Industrial Park Road and Lynn Lane. It is believed that a vehicle was making a turn when they entered the intersection, causing them to forcefully collide with a second vehicle. One of the vehicles, identified as a black sedan, sustained severe front-end damage.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were hurt as a result of the collision. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
A large portion of the roadway was blocked at the intersection for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the scene. Police were able to bring the scene under control within an hour.
No further details have been released regarding the collision. The Starkville Police Department continues its investigation into the accident.
