Stone County, MS (October 31, 2023) – A major car accident occurred in Stone County on October 31 that required an emergency dispatch. At least one individual was injured in the wreck that took place at around 11:43 p.m.
Sources say the incident occurred on United States route 49 near Mississippi Route 26. All northbound lanes were closed for some time while police and paramedics worked in the area.
Injured victims were treated and taken to the hospital as necessary. Their names have not been reported at this time.
Traffic was backed up in the area while crews worked to help at the wreck scene. Police in Stone County are still investigating.
